peach tea

yesterday was my birthday, i am now 22....i feel old. right now i am sitting at my mothers watching my daughter sleep in her swing. i haven't had a chance to do any reading cause everything has been so crazy. my best friend came in from Connecticut cause her mother had surgery. thankfully the surgery went well and her mother will recover. it was nice to see her though cause i haven't seen her sense my daughter was born. i know it hasn't been that long cause my daughter is only six months old but i used to see her every day. she likes to read too. Its one of the things we had in common.

to update on the ms. bradwells, i got a couple more pages in a few days ago and it turns out that there was some kind of murder in the past that is going to be bringing up a whole bunch of secrets from the girls pasts. besides all the law references that i cant understand and the run on sentences that give me a headache its turning out to be a good book. intrested to see what direction it will go.

oh and that reminds me i have to put a page up with the  overview of the books. also i added a page of advice for moms to be. i am learning a lot every day, little tricks that can help a perspective mom to be. if the page atleast helps one person i will be happy. i wish when i was pregnant with my daughter i would have gotten on and found a good advice site with people who i could talk to. raising a kid is a full time hard job.

got to find time to read, better get to it. leave me comments!

lemon tea! yum

so i am sitting here this morning with my little cup of tea wondering how i am going to finish the mass amount of books that i have going already. let alone how i am going to finish the 100 book challenge that i have started on goodreads. seems like so much when my daughter is sitting on the floor screaming and i only get about 15 minutes to myself each day. its days like this that i am happy to be a woman because i can multitask like a mad man.
This week i have started reading the magyk-septimus heap #1 book. its interesting, starts out kinda slowly but does eventually pick up. there are quite a few main characters, mostly centering around the father (septimus heap), his children, and the magical community they live in, or lived it. there is an evil person who has come into the story that has driven the family out of town and is trying to kill them. the big twist is that his only daughter turns out to be a princess and his son that died so many years ago is actually alive and working with his fathers enemy. of course the father doesn't know his long lost son is alive,  and they just found out that their daughter is actually the child of the king and queen that were brutally murdered so many years ago. so....this is how far i am on this one.

i am also reading the four ms. bradwells: a novel. it comes out in march but i happened to have won it on goodreads in a give away. i have a few complaints but over all the book has started pretty well. it starts of with one of the main characters attempting to become a supreme court justice with a couple flashbacks thrown in from their days at law school.  the cool thing is that its staged where i live, in Michigan, so i can relate to the book. my major complaint is that there is a ton of run on sentences, they are everywhere!  and they make my head hurt. it makes it hard to read for too long. also the author uses a lot of law terms that only a law student or lawyer would know and then doesn't explain what the terms mean or how it ties in for the non law known  person. kinda aggravating but over all its still a good read. kind of excited to find out how it ends.

so this is two of the six books i am attempting to finish by the end of February. wish me luck!
